Resist Cover Reveal/Blitz Sign-ups + Do you want a teaser?

Monday, July 21, 2014 No comments
Hello lovelies!

Resist is still in the middle of edits/revisions but almost ready for betas. I'm getting excited to share it with you guys. It's been a completely fun and amusing time writing and editing. You're going to love Allegra and Devlin.

I have set up a cover reveal and blitz for Resist with the wonderful Indiesage Promotions. The cover reveal is set for August 1st and the blitz will run from August 26th through 30th. I would love it if any of you with blogs could sign up and share the cover or participate in the blitz. All you have to do is click this link and it will take you to the sign up page. If you don't have a blog, feel free to share the cover on Twitter or Facebook or Tumbler or wherever you are online.

One other thing... I don't have many likes on Facebook, mostly due to not having a Facebook page set up when I released Here All Along. I would like to gain a few more likes before the cover reveal and blitz if I can... so I'm offering some incentive...

If I can reach 50 likes on the Lilly Avalon Facebook Page, I will share a teaser quote from Resist.

So, get to liking my page and share it with your friends!

On what to expect soon... plus the Resist synopsis

Hello loves,

I know I don't grace this blog with my presence as much as I should but... well... life always seems to be happening. And words on pages. I've been spending my time plugging away hardcore at Resist, my next book. Writing is a funny thing sometimes. I expected to have Here We Are (the sequel to Here All Along) be the next story I write. But then other characters started to whisper to me, then yell at me until I had to dive into their worlds.

First it was one story idea (titled Unexpected), then Resist came along... and wouldn't stop. Both started out as short stories. Not only short stories, but slightly different stories that developed into something much better... and then something that couldn't be told as a short story. Unexpected has evolved into story that will become a full-length novel, and Resist will be a novella that leads into a full-length sequel titled Longing.

I'm very pleased to finally report that the first draft of Resist is complete! I can't wait to share it with you... once I work out all the minor details of revising and editing, of course. I will be having a cover made soon *crosses fingers* so be on the lookout for that. I have the most perfect picture picked out for it. I'm crossing my fingers (again) that nobody else has used this picture. I have a couple back-ups, but still.

Anyways! On to the point of this...

Since all you really know is the title of the next story, you probably want to know what it's about, right? Well, I'm happy to say that there is a synopsis for it... and here it is!

Resist by Lilly Avalon

Allegra Maxwell is sick of the monotony of life. It's all work and no play, and right now she wants to play. She shows up to an annual company meeting with one goal in mind: have a one night stand with a stranger. What she didn't count on is Devlin Pierce walking through the door.
When Allegra first met Devlin, she knew he would be nothing but trouble. After he proved her theory to be true last year, she made a vow to never have anything to do with him again. He's the last person she wants to see, and he knows it. He refuses to leave her alone though. As much as she tries to fight it, the pull he has on her is undeniable. Her ability to resist him proves impossible when Devlin makes her an offer she can't refuse.
One night. That's all he asks and all she wants. Or is it?

Resist is going to be approximately 20,000 words, which means it's a novella. I'm aiming for a release date somewhere mid-to-late August (haven't quite picked a day yet, but I will soon).

For everyone curious about Here We Are, the continuation of Hazel and Adrian's love story... Once I finish and publish Resist, it is my next priority. I'm currently working on an outline in between other projects and I'm hoping to have most (if not all) of it mapped out when the end of August comes. I have several scenes noted, and some fully written out. So it's coming along slowly at the moment, but I'll be able to go full speed hopefully very soon. Hazel's been bugging me lately, so, well, she needs to speak!

Anyhow, I hope all is well with all of you guys! I hope to have more things to share with you soon.

Hi all you pretty faces!

Welcome to my all new author blog. I decided to move to Blogger from Wordpress because this is a lot more user friendly for me than WP was. It's been working out very well for me so far.

This isn't the only new thing around here. See my gorgeous new blog design? It is brought to you by the absolutely amazing Pandabops Design. I highly--highly--recommend Giada for your blog design needs. Her communication and skills are the best around.

Other than the revamping of this blog, I've been hard at work with a new story. Initially, it was supposed to be a short story. A writer friend and I were working on putting together a compilation of short erotic stories, so I started brainstorming short story ideas. This one came to me and I started writing it. In fact, I finished writing the short story at approximately 4000 words. I started working on expanding the story: adding in details, rewording, etc. Then something strange happened. While the story worked to some degree, it felt like something was missing. It felt... incomplete.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized that this isn't a short story. Far from it. I started to outline it as a novella, then discovered there was even more to this story. It's slowly turning into a full-length novel. In this story alone, I wrote 10,000 words in 11 days. I can't tell you how exciting it is for me to be so inspired by a story. I've had stories get to me, but not like this one. Never like this one. And then, another one came to me too, drawing me in until I couldn't stop thinking about it. So, here we go again with an overabundance of inspiration.

Right now, I'm working on the second one, a novella, which I'm trying really hard to put all my energy into right now. I feel like I'm constantly going through a "one step forward, two steps back" phase with my writing. I'm not going to let life get in my way though. I'm going to do my best to get a second book written and published as soon as I possibly can. And that's all I can ask of myself right now. You can't rush genius. Or crappy first drafts. Lol.

And by the way, I now have an official Facebook page! Just click the link there and "like" it to stay up to date with everything going on in the world of Lilly Avalon. Hey, that rhymed! Ha!

Alright, until next time...

I've been... absent, I know...

Why, hello there my lovelies!

I'm so sorry for being so quiet for so long. There has been a lot going on in real life lately and I've had to set aside a few things while I tied up some loose ends and got life back to a somewhat normal. I promise you, though, that I am working on getting myself back out there.

Another reason why it has been so long is this blog. Well, the original blog I had was on Wordpress. Somehow the html wasn't right and I know nothing about configuring that sort of thing, so I finally had to switch over to Blogger, which is a lot easier for me to use. I transferred all my old posts to this blog and once I get everything set up, I'll delete the old blog.

Anyhow... there's so much to get caught up on! Here's some of the stuff that has happened that I haven't had a chance to talk about...

First of all, a huge thank you to every single person who helped share the release of Here All Along, who bought the book, who read the book, who reviewed the book, who did anything to promote the book. You are all wonderful people and I'm cyber-hugging you right now. (If you close your eyes, you can imagine it.)

In March, I ran a special promotion for Here All Along where you could get it for free for five days. It went so well that it actually made it to #9 on the free Romantic Erotica list on Amazon! NUMBER NINE. It was in a Top Ten on a list on Amazon. That was exciting. Thank you for that.

One of my beta readers mentioned how much she wished there was more to Adrian and Hazel's story than what is told in Here All Along. It got me to thinking about how much I adored them myself as I was telling their story. It made me realize that their story wasn't over yet. It never is when you finish reading a story... but I needed to tell the rest of the story. So I decided there will be more to the story in the full-length sequel, Here We Are. I'm working on the plot of the story--I have a basic idea of how I want it to go, but I need to work out the details. Once I get an outline of where I need to go, I'll be able to be more definitive on when the story will be published (my early estimate was end of summer, but it may take longer).

Here We Are isn't the only story that I'm writing right now. I have a novella that I've been dabbling in here and there recently. The title is Seduced by Midnight and it's going to be a modern satire on historical romance. It's early in the works, so I haven't added it on Goodreads. Once I get halfway through writing it, I'll put it on there. I just want to make sure I will definitely be publishing it in the near future (most likely before Here We Are). I also have another writing project in the works, but it's too soon to tell any details on that one yet. I promise (cross my heart!) that I'll tell you all about it when I know more.

I suppose that's all for now. There will be more to discuss in the coming future. I'll be getting this blog redesigned within the next month or so, so there's that to look forward to. In the meantime, I'm going to focus more energy than ever into writing, and at least being on Twitter more. Until then...

XOXO,
Lilly  <3
